Young Sámi people should experience their Sámi identity as visible and a natural part of urban life and society. 

This initiative highlights the diversity of Sámi youth culture and strengthens pride, visibility and belonging across the region. Activities include collaboration with Sámi youth organisations and partners, Sámi Week and Sámi Language Week, art projects with young Sámi artists, and cooperation with Samisk hus, SUPU and others. 

Goals: 

  • Increase visibility of Sámi language, youth culture and identity as a natural part of life in Tromsø. 
  • Strengthen participation and influence among young Sámi through collaboration with Sámi youth organisations and cultural actors. 
  • Create meeting places and art projects where young Sámi artists contribute to expressing and developing Sámi culture in the region.

  • Youth exchange for Sámi youth
